If you did this then Thunderbird would start up and finding no profile folder, it created a new one and there would only be the one profile folder name in the 'Profiles' folder.Īlthough this is not exactly great news, it might help to explain what occurred. It sounds like you deleted the actual Profile folder. Sometimes, but not usually, it can lose track of where the profile is and so can create another, hence why I asked you to check on how many profiles were in the 'Profiles' folder. When you start Thunderbird, it would then hook up with the Profile folder again. Then downloading a current version and clicking on install, would put a new version back onto your computer. Uninstalling Thunderbird program via Start > Settings > Programs and Features, selecting the Mozilla Thunderbird program and clicking on 'uninstall' will only uninstall the program and not the Profile. The actual Thunderbird program which will be located in 'Program Files' and the Thunderbird Profile folder containg all emails, address books etc, located in the Appdata/Roaming folder. None of the folders in the one profile I found are older than the day I downloaded the new version of TBird, so everything is gone. I followed the directions on how to show hidden folders. ![]() It was a couple of days before I realized the Address Book was empty. Afterwards I deleted the old Tbird version before I realized the inbox would not show the sub folders. You asked if I used the auto update and I think I did.
